Hi, I’m Margaret!

I’m a Vancouver based UX designer with a background in packaging graphic design and customer service. An empathetic problem solver and strategic thinker, with strong consultation and collaborative skills. I care about people; and enjoy building accessible, user-friendly, and sustainable solutions that improve the lives of those who use them.
My strong foundation in visual art and design helps me create visually appealing work. My structural design background allows me to easily visualize the architecture of a given project. And my extensive customer consultation experience helps me identify and ask the right questions to get to the heart of any problem; all while setting my study participants at ease. A natural problem solver with a deep interest in human behaviour, I'm always looking for the "why?" so that I can build a better "how".
I’m also very accustomed to working within a larger team, and collaborating with other departments to produce the best possible results.
My key skills:

User Interviews & Testing
Wireframing & Prototyping
Task Analysis & User Flows
User Personas & Journeys
Brainstorming/Ideation
Creative Collaboration
Heuristic Evaluation
Quality Assurance
Experienced with digital design tools like: Adobe CC (Illustrator, XD, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma etc.

I believe in lifelong learning and I’m looking for opportunities to continue to learn and grow as UX Designe

Other interests:

Always a creative, I love to draw, paint, illustrate, and create using both traditional and digital mediums. Music is my creative muse. I grew up playing classical piano, but have also fronted a rock band or two in my time. In fact, I love singing so much that I used to work as a karaoke host during college!
I enjoy difficult puzzles, video games, and table top RPGs; anything that gets my brain going.
I also have a deep interest in world cultures, language, and history. I'm currently studying Japanese in my spare time.  いつか日本に行きたい ! (translated: "I want to visit Japan someday!")
Here's a few examples of some fun things I've done!
